Are you an undiscovered Talent with a portfolio of fresh ideas?

AIGA Philadelphia wants to recognize you with our 2nd Annual Fresh Award. The Fresh Award recognizes up-and-coming designers who are breaking boundaries in the world of design.

Open to non-AIGA members!

Selection Process:

The AIGA Philadelphia Executive Board and this year's Fellow Award recipient, Rosemary Murphy, will review all pieces submitted, and will choose the winner based on judging criteria. Judging will be determined primarily on excellence in concept, design, creativity and usability of design work. Additional consideration will be given to entrants' significant achievements in the Philadelphia design community.

The Award:

The winner's work will be published on the aigaphilly.com/fellows website and he/she will be recognized at the Fellow Award Ceremony in June, 2012 (Date TBD).

Criteria:

  • Applicants submit application themselves.
  • No age limit.
  • Must be a professional (either design employee or freelance designer) working in the design field for 4 - 7 years.
  • Must submit digitally 5-7 pieces of design work (professionally published work is preferred. Can be from entire design career…not just the current year).
  • One self-promotional piece will be accepted.
  • No student work will be accepted
  • Must submit resume and short bio expressing achievements in the field.
  • 2 referrals from boss/colleagues/professors.
  • Entries must be received by April 10th
  • Board members are not eligible.

Submission Items:

  • A multi-page PDF file (under 5MB) showcasing 5-7 pieces of your strongest print or interactive design work. You may include up to 3 views of each project, but must consolidate all related images onto one page. Do not show multiple projects on the same page. You may include a live link for websites along with screen grabs. Sites must remain active until July 2010.
  • In a separate Word document, please write a 1-2 sentence description for each piece submitted, along with a list of all of the contributors involved in the project. Make sure to number each description with the corresponding page of the PDF.
  • 1 page resume and a brief bio of 200 words or less expressing your achievements in the field. Please submit as a Word document or PDF.
  • 2 letters of reference with contact information from professional contacts, clients or professors. Each letter should not exceed one page in length and should make mention of design contributions to the Philadelphia community. Please submit as a Word document or PDF.
  • Please .zip and save all files and use this naming system: YourName_FRESH.zip

Non-Members - $50

Submission CheckList:

Application is not considered complete until all 3 steps are complete and received.

If you are not submitting payment you must fill in your AIGA Membership Number. If we do not receive either your AIGA No. or your payment your application will be considered incomplete and will not be considered.
